Why is the EPG not showing?
The program guide (EPG) is data separate from the channel list. It is very common for channels to play while the guide stays empty, and it is almost always a matching or data problem.
The most common causes
- No guide address: the EPG comes from a separate XMLTV source. If the list header does not define a guide address, or your provider did not give one, the guide stays empty.
- Channel matching: the guide matches channels by their
tvg-id. If a channel'stvg-idin the list differs from the channel ID in the guide, that channel's programs will not appear. - Guide data is old or incomplete: the XMLTV file may not have been updated, may be very large or may have downloaded only partly.
- Time zone difference: if programs exist but the times are off, the guide's time zone differs from your device's.
- The channel is not in the guide: for some channels the provider's guide has no data at all.
What you can do
- Refresh the list and wait for the guide to download; large guide files can take time.
- Ask your provider for the correct XMLTV address and to confirm that the channels'
tvg-idvalues match the guide. - On Windows, the smart EPG engine filters and repairs corrupt or incomplete guide data; make sure you use the latest version of the app.
- If only certain channels are affected, assume those channels are not in the guide.
Important
Guide data and channel IDs come from the provider. The app does not create this data; it only displays it.
