Xtream Codes connection error: what to check

When a list does not load or login fails, the cause is usually a small typo, an expired account or a limit on the provider's side. Go through these checks in order.

Check on your side

  1. Server address: it must start with http:// or https:// and include the port number if needed (for example :8080). Do not leave extra spaces or a trailing slash.
  2. Username and password: both are case-sensitive. Make sure no space was copied at the start or end.
  3. Account expiry: the subscription may have ended. On Windows, the provider account's expiry date is shown for M3U links.
  4. Simultaneous connections: your provider may limit how many devices can be connected at once. Close any session open on another device.
  5. Internet connection: try another network (for example mobile data). If you use a VPN or custom DNS, switch it off and try again.
  6. Test in a browser: if the address provided by your provider does not open in a browser at all, the problem is the address or the server, not the app.

Switch the method

If the Xtream details do not work, try adding the M3U link from your provider instead, and the other way round. See What is the Xtream Codes API? and What is M3U?.

The list loads but a stream will not open or stutters

  • Switch the decoder between Auto, Hardware and Software in the settings.
  • On Windows, increase the buffer.
  • If only certain channels are affected, the source is usually the provider's server.

Still not solved?

List content, account status and server settings are on the provider's side, and Emileyt IPTV Player cannot change them. Send the error message and what you tried to your provider. If you suspect a problem in the app, write to us.
