How to watch an IPTV list on Android TV
With a player app, Android TV can open IPTV lists on the big screen in your living room. The hard part is typing a long link with a remote, so here are three easier ways.
1. Install the app
Open Google Play on your TV, search for Emileyt IPTV Player and install it. You can also open the Play Store page on your phone and choose to install on the TV. Download options
2. Ways to get your list onto the TV
- From your phone with a QR code (easiest): open the QR option on the TV's add-list screen. Scan the code with a phone on the same network, type the list details into the form that opens and send them to the TV. No typing with the remote.
- Typing directly: enter the M3U link or the Xtream details (server address, username, password) in the form on the TV. Fine for short details.
- Local file: put an
.m3uor.m3u8file on a USB drive or a network share and pick it in the app.
See How to use for the steps in detail.
3. Navigating with the remote
The interface is set up separately for TVs so it works with the D-pad (arrow keys). You can move between the Live TV, Movies and Series screens and manage the category list with the remote.
Tips
- Large lists can take a few minutes to load. Wait until the progress bar is full.
- If the picture stutters, try switching the decoder between Auto, Hardware and Software in the app settings.
- You can also cast from your phone with Chromecast, but the TV app plays directly and is usually smoother.
- For children, you can give each profile its own PIN.
If the list does not load, see the connection error checklist.
